Although they are less commonly used for hunting today, Smooth Fox Terriers have retained their drive and determination.
This breed is known for its active, friendly, and playful nature. Smooth Fox Terriers are highly trainable and excel in agility and obedience events. They are lively and energetic, with a balance of speed, endurance, and power. Originally developed to stand like a finely crafted hunter and then gallop after the fox, Smooth Fox Terriers now excel in earth dog trials and are beloved for their clownish behavior. They are excellent with children and have a particular love for chasing bouncing rubber balls.
